Guided Box Breathing
Listen to this guided box breathing practice on the Unbeatable Mind app. I’ve struggled with meditation consistently. This box breathing app has really helped me to get out of my own head. You can set it to unique durations and intervals to fit exactly what you need. Seeing as how I sometimes have the attention span of a golden retriever; this app helps me to get my day started on the right foot.

Discomfort is Necessary for Innovation
Watch this Ted Talk about the relationship between Innovation and Discomfort. I was recently turned on to a handful of inspirational speakers, one of whom is Sterling Hawkins. In this talk, Hawkins explores the idea of discomfort as a critical aspect of innovation. The 12-Hour Walk
Read the 12-hour walk by Colin O’Brady – one of the world’s most recognized endurance athletes and explorers. He’s also set 10 world records. Not bad. The 12-hour walk asks you to invest in yourself by taking one day to walk alone, unplug, and listen to your inner voice. The idea is to completely decouple from the world for 12 hours to rewrite the limiting beliefs etched into your psyche. I just finished this book and am gearing up for my walk. Very excited.

Take a Break From Alcohol
Try removing alcohol from your life. Over time, alcohol has largely worked its way out of my life and it’s been an incredibly positive experience. Now, I prioritize my mornings over the evenings. I schedule my workouts for the mornings. I sleep a lot better. I recover faster. It’s easier for me to get up in the morning. I’m more successful both personally and professionally. For me, this is a no brainer. If you’re looking to get started, consider Anne Mahlum’s 90 day alcohol free challenge.
